Tbilisi Photography & Multimedia Museum Now Open

Tbilisi Photography & Multimedia Museum, founded by Nestan Nizharadze and Tusi Kapanadze, opened its doors to the public on September 16th 2019.

The museum opened with a video installation by a duo of French artists – Vincent Moon & Priscilla Telmon – Unus Mundus: Rituals and Trances. The installation was accompanied with live music.

Adjara Group, known for promoting Georgian art, has played a significant role in the development of a large-scale cultural project of regional importance. An expansive space at Stamba Hotel is now dedicated to Tbilisi Photography & Multimedia Museum, which is the first institution in South Caucasus to focus on contemporary imagery through various forms. Exhibitions and art installations will be renewed continuously while certain multimedia materials, from across the world, will be archived and kept permanently. The museum is created as part of the “South Caucasus Photography Hub for Education and Innovation” funded by Swiss Cooperation Office in South Caucasus.
