Founder & Executive Directors
Temur Ugulava is a Georgian entrepreneur, who founded the company Adjara Group. He is the main driving force behind the company’s establishments and projects. His input in hospitality and agricultural sectors has contributed to tourism development and the global recognition of the country as a must visit destination.
Temur is a known philanthropist, who supports Georgian art and culture, education and is involved in many charitable activities.
Chief Executive Officer
Valeri has emerged as a key business leader in the region through his innovative approach to implementing modern business values to the Georgian community.
Under his leadership Adjara Group has built a diverse portfolio of internationally renowned hotels and trend-setting new entrepreneurial projects including a large-scale agricultural and farming development initiative in Eastern region of Georgia.
Valeri is a dedicated philanthropist involved in several charitable causes and leads the company’s CSR efforts. He is Chairman of the Board of the Global Compact Network Georgia as well as a board-member of the McLain Association Children.
Prior to taking leadership of the company in 2011 he served as Chief of Staff to the Minister of Economic Development and the Minister of Finance. Valeri graduated from Columbia University, School of International and Public Affairs, where he completed a Masters of Public Administration (MPA).
As a recognition of his achievements Valeri was nominated in 2018 by the World Economic Forum as a member of the Young Global Leaders’ program along with 100 of the world’s most promising, business leaders, public servants, technologists, social entrepreneurs and artists.
Levan oversees business operations and is responsible for quality standards of Adjara Group’s properties. He has been involved in the conceptualization and development of the company’s establishments including Rooms Hotels Kazbegi/Tbilisi/Kokhta, the award winning Stamba hotel, Fabrika hostel and the restaurant Lolita.
Levan is one of key figures behind the success of the Group’s projects which have placed Georgia on the world map.
Levan started his career in international affairs and public policy working in New York, Brussels, Istanbul and Tbilisi. Prior to joining Adjara Group, he served as Adviser to the Minister of Finance of Georgia.
Levan graduated from Columbia University, School of International and Public Affairs where he completed a Masters of Public Administration (MPA). He also holds a master’s degree in International Relations and Politics from University de Paris XI & CERIS.
Board of Directors
Amiran serves as Adjara Group’s Finances Director since 2014. He has over 15 years of experience both in the Finance and Hospitality sectors.
Prior to joining the company, he worked for several major international hotel brands in Georgia including Radisson and Marriott.
Amiran graduated from Georgian Banking Financial Institute with both bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Economics.
Human Resources Director
Nino was among the first five employees of Adjara Group when she joined in 2010. Under her leadership, the team has grown to over 3000 employees. Nino has been a key figure in establishing the company’s organizational structure and corporate culture.
Before Adjara Group, Nino worked at the US Embassy in Georgia and also served in local parliament representative office in Tbilisi.
She has been lecturing on Human Resource Management at Tbilisi State University as well as at the Georgian American University and Georgian Institute of Public Affairs (GIPA).
Director of Project Udabno
Nino is leading Adjara Group’s agropreneurial projects and initiatives. She is the director of Project Udabno, a large-scale agricultural development in Kakheti, the eastern region of Georgia. Nino joined the team in 2017 with the task of reevaluating the company’s food and beverage supply chain and successfully implementing an efficient system to supply all of Adjara Group hotels and restaurants with locally sourced produce where possible.
Nino comes from over five years of work experience at the globally leading investment bank, Goldman Sachs, in New York. During this time, she led various industry wide projects and managed a team in operations. She graduated with honors from Weber State University in the United States, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration.
Marketing & Business Development Director
Oto joined Adjara Group in 2010 and heads a visionary team of 50 people who successfully run sales and marketing campaigns for each of the properties. He leads the company’s business development effort and is responsible for new international markets entry strategies. Oto is instrumental to project development and concept creation of the company’s ever-evolving initiatives. His interest in regional development and grassroots engagement drives him to focus on responsible business practices and generate knowledge sharing platforms for others to get inspired by.
Oto graduated from the International Black Sea University with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration.
Head of Corporate Communications
Tina comes to Adjara Group with a strong background in international strategic communications. She successfully established the Group’s communications infrastructure and is responsible for developing and implementing communications strategies and campaigns.
Prior to joining Adjara Group, Tina worked at Albany Associates – a London based strategic communications firm specializing in international affairs. Her work took her to the Middle East and East Africa, where she advised government agencies, international institutions and political groups on various cross-border issues. Amongst other activities, she was a member of the team advising the Syrian Opposition during multiple rounds of Geneva peace talks.
She holds a master’s degree in International Relations and Politics from Uppsala University, Sweden.
Head of Legal Department
Nino has over 20 years of experience in corporate and civil law. In 2010, she was appointed as Head of the Legal Department and created the group’s legal structure.
Prior to joining the company, Nino worked at the Ministry of Justice and at the Georgian National Oil Company as a Legal Advisor to the General Director.
Nino teaches Civil Studies at both the Caucasus and Georgian Universities. She has a Master’s Degree in Public Administration at the Georgian Institute of Public Affairs. Nino also holds a PhD in Law from the Caucasus University.
In 2010, Nino began her career at Holiday Inn Tbilisi in the Food and Beverage Department. Today, she is the company’s Events Director and heads a team of 35 people.
Nino is responsible for event management including international conferences, large-scale banquets and catering services. Her professionalism and dedication has brought popularity and recognition to the quality of the company’s events management services.
Nino graduated from the Georgian Aviation University in 2009 with a bachelor’s degree in Business Management.
Irakli oversees operations of all Adjara Group restaurants and drives the development of new food and beverage experiences. He has formed culinary concepts and created menus based on the company’s farm to table philosophy.
Irakli gained expertise and grew passion for culinary arts in Europe, where he served as Head-Chef at several popular establishments.
Upon his return to Georgia in 2010, he joined the company and was trained by a Michelin star chef – Claude Bosi. Soon after, at only 25 years old, Irakli became the youngest Executive Chef in Georgia.
Today, he leads a team of 300 people and has conceptualized some of the most praised restaurants across the country.
Strategic Planning Director
Nino joined Adjara Group in 2019 as a Strategic Planning Director with the responsibility of monitoring the company’s strategic development and ensuring successful execution of new initiatives. Nino works closely with international financial institutions and guides the company towards profitable long-term growth.
Nino has over 10 years of experience in banking. Prior to joining Adjara Group, she worked as Head of Research and Brokerage at TBC Capital. Nino also served as Head of Analytics and Customer Experience at Bank Republic, Societe Generale Group.
She graduated from Columbia University Business School, where she completed a Master of Business Administration (MBA).
Engineering & Technical Director
Adjara Group’s Technical Director – Gocha Khojelani – is an experienced architect. In 2010 he supervised the planning and reconstructive process of the company’s first hotel – Holiday Inn Tbilisi.
Prior to this, he was responsible for the renovation of the Georgian National Museum and worked in city planning and water supply management. Gocha’s professionalism and experience ensure the technical excellence of the company’s properties and projects.
Gocha graduated from Tbilisi State Academy of Arts in Visual Arts and Architecture.
Information Technologies Director
Andrey is in charge of Adjara Group’s IT infrastructure and development projects. He joined the team in 2010 with the task of creating the company’s IT infrastructure and communications systems. Andrey’s initiatives ensure that the company is fully embracing the ever-evolving tech industry.
Keti became the company’s General Counsel in 2019. She oversees legal compliance and advises on strategic development of the Group. She is responsible for leading and implementing the company’s legal initiatives and decisions.
Keti has more than twelve years of experience in legal services. She began her career as a Tax Analyst in Bank of Georgia – a London Stock Exchange listed company. She later became Deputy Head of Legal Department at JSC Georgian Railway, sole operator of the country’s railway network.
Prior to joining Adjara Group, she served as an Associate at BGI Legal and Senior Associate at BLC Law Office. While at top tier Georgian law firms she dealt with a number of large-scale legal disputes and focused on commercial and tax law.
Keti graduated from Tbilisi State University, Faculty of Law and holds LLM in International Commercial Law from Erasmus University Rotterdam.
Head of Foreign Purchasing Department
Salome is one of Adjara Group’s first team members. She has developed the Foreign Procurement division and provides the company with the best quality products from various international markets.
Salome’s passion and in- depth knowledge of her field of expertise has been instrumental in supplying the company with the unique merchandise that drives guests’ experiences.
Specialized in shipping and customs regulations, she formed and trained her team to efficiently respond to the company’s needs and ensure a steady flow of required products.
Eka joined Adjara Group in 2019 with the aim to develop the company’s in-house educational institution – Adjara Group Academy.
The academy aims at setting up the “People’s Development Center”, which will further the personal and professional growth of the company’s employees. It will also include vocational training platforms for aspiring professionals from Georgia and beyond.
Prior to Adjara Group, Eka led the Training and Development Division at TBC Bank as well as at Bank Republic – Societe Generale Group. She co-founded educational-consulting center which she ran for 7 years and advised key private and public institutions. She has an extensive experience in business training, educational consulting and coaching.
Eka is a Gestalt coach and Gestalt psychotherapist who holds the license of the European Association of Gestalt Therapy (EAGT) and since 2018 is a full member of the EAGT.
General manager, Holiday Inn Tbilisi
Rusudan is the General Manager at Holiday Inn Tbilisi. She leads the hotel’s commitment to provide the quality standards and guest experience of the Intercontinental Hotel Group (IHG). Since her nomination in 2017, Rusudan has reinforced the highest quality brand standards and increased operational efficiencies in finance, sales, revenue and marketing.
Prior to joining the company, Rusudan held the position of branch manager at Bank of Georgia, a London Stock Exchange listed bank. Having graduated from ESM Business School, she has experience in the insurance, banking and sales industries.
General Manager, Rooms Hotel Kazbegi
Elene joined the company as Executive Assistant to the CEO in 2011, where she gained an in- depth understanding of business operations in the hospitality sector. In 2017, she was appointed General Manager at Rooms Hotel Kazbegi, and since she has restructured the hotel’s operations.
Elene came to the company with over ten years of managerial experience in both private and public sectors. She served as General Director at several leading advertising companies, where she was in charge of major international brands.
Elene holds a BA in International Law and Diplomacy from the American University of Hawaii, Tbilisi.
General Manager, Fabrika
Nino is the General Manager at Fabrika Hostel.
Since joining the company in 2017, Nino has enhanced efficiencies of the hostel and re-modeled its business operations.
She has a strong experience in the food and beverage sector and worked for several major food and wine production companies.
